Trip Morrisey, a creative stoner with aspirations of grandeur and frequent flights of fancy, can't seem to escape the monotony of small-town life. Day in and day out, he dreams of accomplishing something great or becoming someone great. However, when he stumbles across a murder on a dead end road, involving a masked, black-robed figure, reality begins to bend for the young burnout. From there, he finds himself on the bad trip of a lifetime as he speeds back into town, immediately being taken into custody for the murder of his family. As the entire community slides into paranoid chaos, Trip is finally given the opportunity to become more than the loser he the feared he was destined to be.
