Pals Captivating! This story of good, wholesome, long lasting friendships keeps the reader on the edge of his seat. Mr. Ring's talent for description brings the characters to life in a tangled web of financial and political intrigue. The twists and turns guide the reader to surprising ending. A must read for the financially savvy and the suspense enthusiast.

Entertaining & Intriguing Mystery

I really enjoyed PALS. It was well-written, the characters were interesting and I loved the wise and humorous voice of the narrator. The plot twists and suspense kept me interested all the way to the end.

Pulls you in from page one

PALS is a very well written, thought provoking novel that pulls you into the plot from the very beginning. The book recounts the lives and attachments of three men who stay closely connected despite the twists and turns of their careers and fortunes. All of this is done against the backdrop of an attempted murder of the lead character whose memory of his pals gradually coalesces as he regains his strength and mental faculties. The author does a great job of making the novel entertaining and thought provoking while exercising a full command of the English language without leaving the reader groping for a dictionary on alternate pages. In other words, a perfect combination of prose and plot.

I applaud the author for his effective utilization of plot development from the perspective reconstructing the lead character's memory following his near fatal 'accident'. This proved to be an effective technique in the unveiling of the cast of characters (Pals)involved in Nick Drizos' past and setting the backround for the puzzling events which follow. A well written novel,I especially got a kick out of Mr. Ring's timely references to some of the truly great movies, books, songs, and television shows of the past 50 years. ... well done. Look forward to Carl Ring's next offering. dgp

Ring has created a really enjoyable story. His command of the language enables him to bring to life the workings of Wall Street in a highly understandable way yet wrapped up in a first rate mystery. Hope this is the first of many...
