I grew up on a big cattle ranch in Kiowa County, Kansas. In the 1930s, the economic and financial woes of the Depression were intense. Then came the terrible drought of the Dust Bowl days. As children, we didn't know how the years of poor crops and lack of income weighed on the shoulders of our parents. My parents were determined to press on and expected better days. This book is a collection of my favorite stories from my childhood. We lived and learned.
