So simple to create and so easy to read! Your students will experience reading success with these fun mini-books! Simply color in, cut out and staple together. The predictable format guarantees that your students will be reading immediately! Each Palabras Flip Booklet contains seven words that your students will be able to quickly decode.Once students are able to read a given flip booklet, give them another with even more syllable combinations to take them to an even higher level of reading!HOW TO USEIn order to get your students ready to read these books, show them how combining two syllables creates a word in Spanish. There are two sets of booklets. In the first series, the ending syllable changes while the beginning remains the same. In the other set of booklets it is the opposite; the first syllable is different in each word but the second remains the same.For the first series, on the board write "pa__." Then write "to" on the blank space to create the word "pato." Show the students how to sound out each syllable and put them together to form the word. Erase "to" and replace it with "sa" to make "pasa." Explain to the class that the first part of the word, "pa," has not changed. Continue replacing the blank with the syllables go, ja, lo, pa and ra to create more words that begin with the syllable "pa."The second series of booklets follows a similar pattern. However, this time it is the first syllable that changes.On the board write "__sa." Then write "me" on the blank space and demonstrate how to read the two parts together to form the word "mesa." Now erase "me" and replace it with "pa." Stress to the class that you have only changed one syllable; the "sa" remains the same. The resulting word is now "pasa." Continue replacing the blank with the syllables ca, co, ma, ro, etc., to form new words that all end with "__sa."MAKE THE BOOKLETOnce the students have practiced reading these words, have them color in the drawing on the page and, if desired, the letters. Have them carefully cut out the 'pages." Make sure to remind them to NOT cut out the letters next to the picture. They should cut only on the thick lines, not the thin.Once all of the syllables are cut out, staple them to the indicated space. Make sure that the letters are not upside down and have everyone put the "pages" in the same order so that the class can read their books together. Have the students read the books aloud to their families. They will be delighted to hear their children reading words on their own! Tan simple de crear y tan f?cil de leer!
