When Paisley's parents are killed by a drunk driver, her world is turned upside down. She went from a loving home, with two wonderful parents, to live with an Aunt, Uncle and Cousin Kyle, that she had never known about. The only attention she received was from Kyle and it wasn't the attention that anyone deserved. Between the coldness from her Aunt and Uncle, and the emotional and physical abuse she took from her cousin, she withdrew, closing herself off to the world. That is, until she met Kalub. She never truly opened up to him and she never told him much about herself, but she felt drawn to him and for some reason she trusted him. He became her best friend, her only friend. He was three years older than she was and his band had done so well, that they began touring right after graduation. She kept in close contact with him by text and late night phone calls, until the day she graduated. Something changed, all communication stopped and Kalub was determined to find out what happened. The morning he heads back out on the road, he gives in to the feeling something is wrong. He went searching for her and wasn't expecting to find a bruised, bloodied and broken girl, more broken than he had ever seen her. She was in danger and his first instinct is to protect her. Paisley goes on the run, joining his band on the road. In doing so, this puts Kalub's life in danger as well. Kyle is out for blood and he won't stop until he finds them both. Being in such close quarters, will Kalub and Paisley be able to continue denying their true feelings for each other, or will the walls finally come crashing down? Will Kalub be there to catch her when she learns the truth about her family, or will Kyle end her life and silence her for good?
