I checked this book out from the library and didn't get around to reading it. I'm "reviewing" this anyway because it bugs me when there is absolutely nothing on the product description page that tells me what the book is about. So here it is, straight from the jacket flaps: "A new view of western history is emerging, one that recognizes the experiences and contributions of all peoples who lived in or came to the American West. "This anthology gives voice and interpretation to the experiences of a diverse group of thirty women, all of whom lived in Oregon and Washington. The editors, in addition to asking how race, class, and gender affected these women's experiences, examine what role this particular geographic region played in shaping their lives.
