Jo Snelling has the two best friends in the world. Aleesha is studying music and drama in college to prepare for a Broadway career and Kim is majoring in Spanish, preparing to do missions. And that's where Jo has a problem. She doesn't have the least idea what she wants to do with her life. She doesn't even have a dream. No wonder she feels seriously overshadowed by Kim and Aleesha. What is she even good at? Reading? Hmm. Not a career possibility there. What's that, Pastor Ron? Lead a team of three on a mission trip to Nicaragua? Don't you know I don't have any leadership skills? Apparently he thinks she does. She reluctantly gives in and lets God lead her out of her comfort zone and deposit her in the most poverty-stricken area imaginable, where she's responsible for teammates Aleesha and mid-teen Daphne, Pastor Ron's daughter. As if having to help Aleesha and Daphne cope with the most unimaginable problems isn't challenging enough, Jo must also learn to work with the very unloving and unlovable leader of the other team that's been assigned to the same church. Can Jo help her teammates, and can she find a way to work with the other team's intolerable leader? And will her experiences in Nicaragua somehow point her in the right direction regarding a vocation? And how will God help Daphne and Aleesha solve the problems Jo couldn't solve?
