Overnight Medley is a Jazz book, a magical meeting of two poets, Brazilian Floriano Martins and Mexican Manuel Iris. The original meeting place was the United States, where Iris lives. Martins then went to Australia and the book was written in the two geographical sites thanks to the virtual stage of the Internet. It is a book on Jazz, its music and is composers, but itself pure Jazz for the improvisation and adventure of writing as a duet and for the magic of its fascinating imagery. The book also includes a brief introduction by Jovino Santos Neto, a Brazilian musician that has long kept track of the career of Hermeto Pascoal, one of the composers that Overnight Medley covers. English translation by Allan Vidigal.
