CONTENT WARNING: This play contains discussions and allusions to suicide, abuse, and sexual assault. Orcheton Village was a peaceful place filled with charmingly unique people who all got along very well. Ten years ago, everything changed when an incident involving a student who committed suicide happened, leaving the people in the village to become more anxious and tense. Various aspects of this incident have remained unresolved to this day. In the present day, a teacher named Harper Sigurd moves into the village as a favor for the Orcheton School principal, who is apparently an old friend of Harper's mother. Harper was brought here from the city in an attempt to help recover the atmosphere in the school and perhaps even bring the village back to its former glory. In the meantime, a few of the residents take it upon themselves to re-investigate the incident in order to finally determine the truth of what happened ten years ago. "Overcast in Orcheton" is a stage play designed for theater, though it can also be enjoyed through reading. My name is Milton Joseph and I am a Canadian playwright who has always been interested in the performing arts. I hope you can enjoy my work!
