When Marty, a socially awkward if well-meaning man-child, discovers his girlfriend is unexpectedly pregnant, his life alters in ways he could never have imagined. Beginning with reimagining his role in her life. He is forced to honestly confront what he wanted out of the relationship as much as what he wanted out of his own life. These two desires increase in tension until they are overwhelmingly incompatible.

Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, thoughtful, and always engaging, the narrative takes us on a journey with Marty from victim of circumstances and other's emotional whims and weaknesses out and through his crisis to hope and steadiness, a sense of who he is apart from the demands and expectations of others. He is forced to realize who he is as a father as much as who he is as a man.
