Gail Lucas was performing in the local Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company when she met Terence Geoghegan, a string player in the orchestra who was about twenty years younger, had a black belt in Taekwon-do and rode motorcycles. After teaching Gail to ride her own, Terence suggested that they ride around the world on them. In 1987, they embarked from Santa Barbara to begin a five-year sojourn that included seeing the Berlin Wall come down, being shot at in Turkey, arrested for spying in the former Yugoslavia and robbed in Russia. Over the Hill and 'Round the Bend is an incredible story of a life transformed.
