Somewhat Disappointed!

Mary Monroe is one of my favorite authors. I love each novel that I have read from this great storyteller. This is my 10th read. There is a neighbor series which includes the 2 book titles. The first, "One House Over" and the 2nd book called "over the Fence". After reading the first novel, "One House Over", I was gasping in hopes that there would be a sequel because the novel left so many cliffhangers with no assurance of what happened next. Now, I'm reading the sequel, "Over the Fence". There are so much shady dealings with Yvonne and Milton that it got somewhat boring until something truly tragic happened and once again, the author left us with another cliffhanger that did allow us to know what happened in the end. We all want to know if Yvonne and Milton got Odell to give them their black mail money and we want to know if Odell ever told Joyce about his other woman and children. Perhaps the answers to these questions is in another sequel?

drama, drama, drama! i loved it! i enjoyed this series. i especially like how real the author was in regards to the Jim Crow laws and nasty those racists folks were in the south. but it no different from today's time. good read. enjoyed another mary monroe, who is starting to become my favorite author.
