Favorite Book from Childhood

"Over In The Meadow" is my all-time favorite Little Golden Book. My mom and I read this almost daily and I loved the rhyming and the seeing what the each animal family did each day. At some point the book was lost (or given away becase I was "too old" for it), but a few years ago I started researching it and found it again on a used book website. I was so happy to be reunited with it and once again add it to my book shelf. It was was just as wonderful as I remembered it from my childhood. I'm on the hunt for it again as I have young nephews who need to experience it...I just wish they would republish it so I could get them a new copy to enjoy!If you are thinking about buying it, it's well worth the money and effort to get this book and is a delightful addition to any library.

So much more than just another children's book ...

Of all the books my 3 children and I shared, this was our absolute favorite. The charming rhymes were easy for my children to quickly learn. And the funnest part of all: we'd take turns acting out the characters in the book! I can still see my little Ronnie as a lizard while he "basked all day by the old mossy gate". (Anyone who's read the story knows exactly what I mean...) Our ragged, original version is now nearly 20 years old but I've purchased new copies to give my children so they can cherish the story all over again with their own children.
