Outram's Rifles: A History of the 4th Battalion 6th Rajputana Rifles

By Hugh George Rawlinson

Covers the period 1817 to 1922 with good reporting of the war in Persia 1857, the second Afghan War, Third Burmese War, Aden, the Persian Gulf, and the Great War. In the latter, as 123 Outram's Rifles, the Regt fought in Egypt and in the Palestine campaign. The coverage of the latter is good, with many individuals of all ranks mentioned by name. These pages are a gem. They are crammed with war service details (Palestine and Arab Rebellion) list of officers, awards, etc., for the war-raised Bn between 1918 and 1922 Index. Apps. Roll of Honour (British and Indian Officers, WWI only), Honours and Awards (all ranks, mainly WWI).
