Pretty Good

I love Joan Johnston, and this one didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the story. I just found out the Barefoot Bride comes before this book so I'll have to go back and read that one. My only complaint was that the end is kind of abrupt and left me with some unanswered questions. I like when she lets you know what happened rather that the book just ending. All in all very good Read.

#2 FOLLOW-UP TO THE BAREFOOT BRIDE

"Poor Wasted"! Really got a kick out of the determined "Patch" Kendrick in traveling [which couldn't be easy] to Oakville, Texas from Montana. She was tired of waiting for Ethan Hawk to show up and claim her as his bride. Of course she doesn't have a clue of what his life has been like for the past 8 years. Ethan Hawk became a man that Patch could still love even if her memories were of a 25 year old man. She has finally grown up but still retains some of the qualities that endeared her to Hawk. She gets to meet Ethan's sister, Leah and his mother, Nell. His friends Frank Meade and Boyd Stuckey show up. Frank is escorting Merielle Trahern in town when Patch bumps into them. Her re-introduction to Ethan was a revelation to her in the shoot-out. We meet some great secondary characters that flesh out the plot - Jackson Trahern planning to kill Hawk - his mother, Nell appeared to be on her death bed - Patch looks up her mother's father - Patch still collects wounded animals and connects with Leah over them - Boyd keeps showing up and intends to marry Patch - Ahhhh! and then we have the mystery of the bounty hunter, Cameron Calloway - [And who the devil needs sizzle. Characters never fall in love the same way we imagine.] HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - just a bit much of PMS - Look for Cam's story in THE INHERITANCE with a trip to England. What a way for a bounty hunter to go.

Wonderful Historical Romance

I happen to be a huge fan of john johnston. This book was wonderful and makes you feel like you are there with the characters and not reading the book. I also love how john johnston will have a character in one book i.e. Patch and then branch off and have another book that is Patch's Story. EXCELLENT MUST READ

Sweet and fun

I liked this book. It didn't have everything I usually look for in sizzling romance novels, but it kept be turning the pages. And I cared about the charaters. If your looking for a real sizzling page turner try "Anything, My Love" by Cynthia Simmons.

I loved it!!

This was an excellent book! I stayed up till 2:30 in the morning finishing it. Ethan and Patch were so perfect for each other, and I thought the plot was wonderful!
