Book Overview

Masterpiece for history buffs, "the West", and for entrepreneurs.

This review is for Volume 1 (50 notable men and women). Volume 2 features 100 additional notables, also written by Mr. Anschutz. I'd known of the author by his charitable giving. And when his hoiding company, Rio Grande Industries bought out my employer the Southern Pacific Company, I took an additional interest in the man behind the title. He details the men and women who created the towns (later to become cities), industries not even dreamed of, and aided in the true expansion of the virgin country west of the Mississippi. Not all were robber barons. It was interesting reading at all times. I bought the hard copy and a perfect copy arrived. I have since started reading Volume 2.
