Book Overview
Empower your student to navigate the complexities of human nature with one of Charlotte Mason's most profound and practical works.
"Ourselves, Our Souls and Bodies" (Volume 4) is the cornerstone character and moral development text in Charlotte Mason's renowned Home Education Series. Written directly to older students and young adults, this classic work bridges the gap between academic learning and inner growth, guiding readers through the vital landscape of personal conscience, emotional intelligence, and moral decision-making.
This complete edition contains both essential parts:
Book I: Self-Knowledge - Explores the kingdom of the mind and body, helping students understand their own faculties, recognize how unchecked habits can hinder them, and learn how to direct their energies toward useful, unselfish living.Book II: Self-Direction - Shifts focus toward higher faculties, examining the role of the conscience, the function of the will, and the practical steps of personal governance and self-mastery.Whether you are implementing a classical homeschool curriculum, curating a high school reading list, or seeking intentional character-training literature, Ourselves provides timeless wisdom that transforms how youth view themselves, their responsibilities, and their relationship to the world.
Ideal for parents, homeschool educators, and classical schools looking for living books on ethics and personal responsibility, this volume helps young adults master their habits, understand their faculties, and develop strong moral character.
