Victims of mass relocations, concentration camps, and the outlawing of their identity during the 20th century, the Rusyn people almost became extinct. It has been only in the last 30 years since the fall of the Soviet Union that these people have been able to recover their heritage and language. Due to these struggles many questions have been left unanswered. Issues of identity and culture that strike at the heart of what it means to be a Rusyn in the 21st century. Our Vision is an attempt in starting a conversation on these questions while also providing a blueprint to find answers. Covering topics such as the Russophile past of previous generations, who can be a Rusyn, and modern-day political strategy, no stone is left unturned in this collection of essays.
