What a fun exciting read!

OUR PLACE IN TIME is a wonderful read! The story is complex but at the same time it is easy to understand due to the storytelling genius of the author, Ms. Banchi. The main characters, Ruthe, Deb, Max and Jewel are full of unique personality traits that make some of them loveable and some you just want to wring their necks! This is a fun combination especially when they all unite together in Alamogordo. The story is well thought out, very well described by the author and leaves no questions in the end. Time travel novels can have a unique language all of their own but the author does a fantastic job of making it easy to understand and enjoyable to read about the science involved. I chose to read this second time travel novel by Ms. Banchi after reading her first in the genre, BEYOND THIS TIME. I am glad I did. Ms. Banchi definitely has a grasp on time travel novels that are fun to read and have you laughing at times at the antics of the characters.

Great Book

"Our Place in Time" is a wonderful book! The author draws you in immediately and keeps you on your toes until the very end! The main characters Max, Ruthe and Deb have an interesting relationship to one another and a hilarious interaction when they all finally meet in "one place in time." I highly recommend this book!

NOT Disappointed

Time travel is always a risky business. If you had to choose, would you go backward or forward in time? In this novel, one character goes forward forty years and another goes back forty years. Their adjustments to the new time periods in which they must live is handled very well by the author. The relationships among the three characters - Ruthe, Max, and Deb - are complicated, often amusing and interesting! By the last page they feel like old friends. I rate this book "thumbs up" - a definite BUY. I also read and enjoyed "Beyond This Time" by the same author - very good, but VERY DIFFERENT from this novel.

an experiment gone terribly wrong

A scientific experiment gone terribly wrong has thrust one person back 40 years and thrust another ahead 40 years. The only way to correct this error is to bring back the destroyer, Eldridge which scientists have turned into an invisible ship. It is this phantom ship which has drawn two people into a time warp. Ms. Banchi has written a compelling novel with characters one can readily identify with. Racing against time, the scientists bring the novel to a stunning conclusion. This is a must read time travel nove.

OUR PLACE IN TIME is an exciting book. The characters and dialogue are real. It was nice to read a story with characters above the age of 25!! The Philadelphia experiment starting point drew my interest, but the author has taken us away from the predictable into a new adventure. I highly recommend the book.
