Jessica now 23, a Christian and the oldest of three, is struggling to break the controlling hold of their father. Since the death of his wife, he holds tight reins on the siblings in fear that they will make wrong decisions which might cause them problems. He has preconceived ideas about the differences in blue-collar workers rather than white collar workers. He is determined that his children will all be in white collar jobs and only associate with those type people. Jessica falls in love with Lane, also a Christian, who her father thinks is a lower-class construction worker and is determined that she has nothing to do with him, but a tender love story evolves. The entire story revolves around preconceived ideologies and judgmental values that the two have to rise above.
