Our Daddies Are Home is a story about the power the close friendship Leslie and Joy has against the obstacles they face growing up in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Leslie's father, one of the last Irishmen living in Roxbury, was once a star quarterback at Boston College. Joy's father, an African American, was his center for two years. After college he became a police officer and had an accident. He is always at home. Leslie's father works as a barber around the corner. Leslie hasn't felt love from her father since she was a little girl. He's always preparing her for the harshness of the world. He isn't able to show his daughter love until the end when he saves her life. Our Daddies Are Home is about Friendship, Triumph, and Tragedy.
