I have been a bilingual teacher for ten years, and now I am a teacher educator. I found this book by chance at a San Francisco bookstore (I support them any time I'm not desperate for a title). Little did I know the huge role it would play in my teaching, which part of the time happens in Spanish. The book can be used as a quick reference and as a source of grammar excercises, examples for a given rule, and word lists. Coming up with these on my own demands time and effort, which I can seldom spare given the nature of this job. This reference book is a great deal (so cheap!), and is written for the college level native speaker. This is an advantage for the instructor, who can then select words and excercises at simpler levels, depending on the student population he or she works with. The opposite is much harder to achieve, as it is much harder to come up with more complex word lists and exercises for the advanced student. This book offers examples at all levels of proficiency.
