Book Overview

The Orthodoxic Nation is at war with itself, a sort of smoldering burn that has yet to erupt into the coming conflagration which it will before this is over. An almost evenly divide populace elected its 47th Chancellor by a plurality of the disaffected and the cynical only to see a Fascist mob capture the reins of government to immediately begin the dismantling and destruction of the governing structure for the benefit of Privilege in all its forms. Too late did those of the Personality Cult around 47 who were without privilege see what the rest of the Nation saw all along, and even then. Orthodoxia is at war with itself in this, the early 21st Century, and the outcome is uncertain. The story progresses through the narrative of a Citizen who, against his wishes, puts himself at war with the Great Leviathan.

The Novel Orthodoxia 2036 is a complex and challenging work that is the story of the resistance, culminating in the Election Year 2036, to the Authoritarian replacement of a constitutional representative democracy. Fifteen years in the making. Orthodoxia is a fictional telling of one person's epiphany that brings him to the brink where a new-found drive to violence and a lifetime of fearful supplication collide. This, too, could go either way.

Orthodoxia 2036 rewards erudition and, even more so, intellectual curiosity: a tale held together by IDEAS from the scientific to the metaphysical; from metaphorical to philosophical explorations of the nature of the State and the moment of justification for insurrection, the Nature of Time and of Death, and so on. The Novel weaves discussions of Philosophy, History, Science, Symbolic Logic, Theology and Mathematics. Orthodoxia addresses the most sophisticated and important intellectual breakthroughs, from Martin Luther's October 31, 1517 "publication" of his Ninety-Five Theses, and the 1637 publication of A Discourse on Method by Rene Discartes, to the rigidly analytic logic of Ludwig Wittgenstein's 1921 Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus; and beyond to the 20th/21st Century developments of Quantum Mechanics and Modern Cosmological Paradigms.
