Excellent starting place

This book contains 113 illustrations in color & black and white. It covers the history of the craft and describes the differences in rungs from different places in the Orient and for different purposes. Some of the differences include Prayer rugs, Asia Minor, the Caucasus, Persia, Turkistan, the marginal areas as Turkmenskaya and Usbekskaya, Bokhara carpets, the Turcoman tribes, and Chinese influence. There is no index. As stated, this is an excellent overview of Oriental Rugs & Carpets.
