Sam is a regular 12-year-old boy living a normal life until everything falls apart. After a tragic accident takes the lives of his entire family, Sam is sent to an orphanage that seems anything but ordinary.

It doesn't take long for Sam to realize something is wrong. No one ever gets adopted. No one ever leaves. And some children vanish without a trace.

Sam finds an unlikely friend in the orphanage gardener, Fred, who seems to know more than he lets on. When one of Sam's closest friends disappears, he decides to dig deeper. As the truth unfolds, it becomes clear the orphanage is hiding something dark and deadly.

Sam and his friends begin plotting their escape, but things take a strange turn when a couple arrives to adopt a child and Fred suddenly changes. With time running out and danger closing in, Sam must figure out who to trust and how to survive before it's too late.
