"Ordinary High Water" is the second collection of poems by R.J. Looney that reflect on the unconventional bonds of family, loss, and love lost and found. The poems are narrated from both a biographical and fictitious perspective, and include thoughts and scenes of a youth spent in the gateway to the Arkansas Delta, the value of family and friends throughout life and in the afterlife, and a purpose that can be realized in a sense of place. R.J. Looney lives and writes in Arkansas. His poems have been published online and in print since the early 2000s. His first collection of poems "A Crow's Breakfast: Poems from The Low Road" was published in 2014. His poetry and music series "No Place In Particular" has been celebrated since 2013 in Little Rock, AR and Oxford, MS. Looney was named as finalist in the best poet category by the Arkansas Times in 2019 and 2020.
