His first collection of poems "A Crow's Breakfast: Poems from The Low Road" was published in 2014. His poetry and music series "No Place In Particular" has been celebrated since 2013 in Little Rock, AR and Oxford, MS. Looney was named as finalist in the best poet category by the Arkansas Times in 2019 and 2020.
