This collection from approved sources of the rites and texts for use during the Solemn Exposition of the Holy Eucharist is so arranged that it may be used for one or several days, according to local custom or pastoral need. In order to provide periods for liturgical prayer during the period of exposition three services are provided: The Liturgy of the Hours during the Period of Exposition, Eucharistic Services of Prayer and Praise, and Celebration of the Eucharist during the Period of Exposition. Two forms for the Closing Celebration for the Solemn Exposition are also given, one taking place during Mass, and a second when Mass is not celebrated. A listing of suggested Scripture readings, some optional litanies, and music resources are given in the appendices. Music from Michael Joncas heads a wide selection of music. This is a necessary resource for those responsible for planning solemn expositions.

This book is excellent for Liturgical use. A "Must Have" resourse for for any parish, school, or community that's tryng to foster Eucharistic Adoration and Worship.

Useful ritual book for Solemn Expositions

This book is a collection of rites and services produced by the NCCB Bishop's Committee on the Liturgy. It is written specially for the Solemn Expositions of the Eucharist, as an aid to parishes and communities to plan such worship services in accordance with the directives since Vatican II. It also provides some useful information for the adaptaions used when a lay minister expose or repose the Eucharist, and may be a guide for brief forms of Eucharistic adorations.The book comprises the following: Opening Celebration of the Eucharist, Morning & Evening prayer before the exposed Eucharist, Eucharistic services of praise and thanksgiving before the exposed Eucharist, Mass during the period of exposition, and Closing services with and without Mass. Litanies composed by USCC, suggested scripture texts, and a selection of Music (with scores) are provided also. Scripture texts provided are drawn from the NAB with revised Psalms and NT, while other texts are taken from official ritual books.The book is beautifully crafted. Its usefulness may be limited because of its strong focus on Solemn Expositions. But overall, it is very helpful in directing such Eucharistic worship outside Mass in accordance with the life and traditions of the Church.
