Not easy to find, a rendition of Ordeal by Innocence

Agatha Christie's “Ordeal by Innocence” (1984)
AKA Ordeal by Innocence
Based on the book with the same name. This was adjusted for a low budget and some big names.
Dr Calgary (Donald Sutherland), geologist, returned to a village after a two-year geological expedition. His purpose is to return and address the book that a Hitchhiker accidentally left in the car. He finds that while he was on the expedition, the hitchhiker was hanged for a murder that was to take place at the exact time the hitchhiker was with Dr Calgary.
Yep, no one wants to hear from Dr Calgary. Everyone looks guilty. He may even be dispatched for being nosy. We go along for the ride as Dr Calgary unravels the mystery of who actually dispatched the sweet old mother (yeah right), Rachel Argyle (Faye Dunaway).
This is similar to a movie called “An Inspector Calls” (2015), with David Thewlis, who looks a tad like Donald Sutherland. It is plodding. The background music that does not fit the seams sometimes overwhelms the speaker. Be prepared for lots of flashbacks. They assume you can pick up subtle clues. You may need to watch a second time to see what you may have overlooked. For those prudish viewers, there are scenes where female frontal lobes are exposed.
Keep watching because the big reveal is not the end of the movie.
