Loved it!!

As a fan of the horse mystery genre I was excited to learn of this new author. Got my copy of "Or else..." and it did not disappoint. I sat down and started reading the day the book was delivered and basically had to put life on hold until I was done. A very satisfying read. A fast paced plot, a flawed main character that you can still root for and best of all accurate equine details. There is nothing worse than reading horse related material written by a non-horse person. Tattersall knows his stuff and that helped make this a deeply satisfying read. The only negative I can think of is that I have to wait while he writes the sequel! Please hurry!

A Thriller From The Turf

Colin O'Hearn has some problems, some real problems. His training of Thoroughbreds has fallen on hard times, which coincides with his hard-drinking and search for another sort of winning form that only the midnight hour can bring into a shattered life. But a series of circumstances converge on O'Hearn that brings more trouble than a barn full of unruly 2-year-old maiden racers. And fighting for the lead in this unenviable pack are mobsters, bartenders, jockey agents, detectives, FBI agents and other assorted shady characters. Author Peter Tattersall pens a well-paced thriller surrounding the rocky life of O'Hearn and the boulders strewn over the track during his rugged trek caused by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong people. Giving a nod to the classic detective fiction culled from the "Roaring 20's," Tattersall has a winning trifecta ticket of action, humor and mystery.
