The basic difficulty in the calculation of thermoelectric batteries is to consider temperature dependences of the thermoelectric parameters of the materials: i.e. electrical conductivity, the Zeebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity. In this monograph, one of the approaches to the considering of temperature dependences of thermoelectric materials is regarded, viz. the method of accurate thermal balances, with effective values of thermoelectric parameters being used. To provide the best conditions for the operation of thermoelectric devices it is always necessary to optimize them by some parameters. The offered method permits to use for the optimization of thermoelectric devices the entire well-known arsenal for temperature-independent thermoelectric parameters. In this book the methods of optimization of different thermoelectric cooling and generating battery are presented. The book can be used by designers of thermoelectric batteries and devices, which exploit them.
