It's a great Austrian book about a terrorattack on the social event of the year-the Opernball. With lots of detail Hasslinger describes the plans of the terrorgroup as well as the events around the ball. An incredible, realistic story. By the way, the book is available only in German!
Fast paced with a very important background

Josef Haslinger, an Austrian author centering around brutal(especially Nazi) ideology and how it can happen that people make the same mistakes over and over again. The story is about a disastrous terror attack on the Vienna Opernball in a fictious, yet likely setup and how a middle aged star journalist discovers the irritating background where religious ambition and extreme right-wing mentality marry to an unholy cocktail. The best thing are the exceptionally well described characters. You are never to tell if the one who is interviewed is "good" or "bad" as in so many novels. If You are interested in a fast paced, interesting book with a political and social awareness that is seldomly found, You have found a book which You can't put away till You read it from first to last page
