In the land of the Midnight Sun from mid October until mid February was total darkness. February on was progressive daylight until July when the Sun was at 12:00 o'clock and twenty-four hours of daylight. Temperatures reach as low as negative 90 to a high of positive seventy-two degrees. The continent of Siberia Russia was within a short traveling distance. We were harassed daily by their TU_95 aircraft surveillance planes. The mission was for early warning to the lower forty-eight states. We endured total isolation relying on Supplies via plane. Mail was erratic sometimes going for eighteen days without.I have worked on this book for five years with the encouragement from My Granddaughter. It has been a pain's taken project. I have included photos near each paragraph to keep the readers interest. I just want to let society know what silent warriors we were. Vietnam was in full swing and some on the site had served in country and some had not. We had no choice as to where we were sent. It was for convenience of the Government, but we are all Veterans.
