Opening the Door to the God Who Hears

In this book, we open the door to the "God Who Hears." This door is opened through our prayers of confession. Confession is more than telling someone about our sin. It is a door that opens our heart to God's presence, where we can experience His joy and love. We have a tendency to think we are able to acquire all we need, using our own knowledge and abilities. We think we are rich and have need of nothing, as John mentions in Revelation 3:17. God cannot help us or comfort us if there is no room for Him in our hearts. He cannot enter without an open door. Therefore, we need to confess our needs and weaknesses in order for God to come in and work in us to do His will. This is the confession of need that opens the door. This is the door Jesus mentions in the third chapter of Revelation. He says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him and he with Me."
