English Teachers --- use this book!!

As someone very committed to the idea of cultural studies and interdisciplinary reading, I found Andrasick's text extremely helpful. Her ideas on reading and literature in general, as well as how to teach secondary English, are very relevent and useful. She offers some concrete ways to encourage students to open up texts and really increase their comprehension of what is written and what is between the lines. I found this book a wonderful and useful guide for my secondary English classroom.
