This book was born out of Xue's experience as a preschool teacher and mother. She understands that children (as well as caregivers) are often apprehensive about starting preschool. Her hope is that this book will help children and caregivers become more comfortable starting preschool by providing a fun (as well as accurate) depiction of daily life at her preschool. This book will provide you and your child with an introduction to many of the places and activities found in preschools around the world. An accomplished artist, Xue also illustrated the book with scenes taken from her experience and surroundings as a preschool teacher.

With so many activities to explore and friends to meet, Xue's book will both prepare and excite your child for their first day of preschool. Along the way, you will find a number of parent-child interaction prompts as well as names of places and activities in both English and Chinese. About the author:

Cheng Xue is an experienced educator with a passion for helping children grow and succeed in learning. Originally from China, she is a graduate of Chengdu University and Sichuan Normal University and has deepened her understanding of child development through her work teaching in China, Australia and the United States. Xue currently teaches dance, art and Chinese at Excel Preparatory Preschool Academy in Alexandria, Virginia where she lives with her husband and daughter (who is also a student at Excel).
