A World I Wasn’t Ready to Leave

★★★★★ Onyx Storm left me with the same feeling I had when I finished the previous books in this series: I wasn’t ready for it to be over. What I loved most about this installment was how much time we got to spend with the world and the people in it. The dragons, the politics, the mysteries, the history, the friendships, and the growing complexity of the characters kept me completely invested from beginning to end. While parts of the journey felt longer than they needed to be, the payoff was worth it. This book expanded the world in meaningful ways, raised new questions, and gave several characters room to grow beyond the roles they had occupied in earlier books. Some of my favorite moments weren’t the big battles or reveals, but the quieter moments that added depth to the squad, the dragons, and the relationships between the characters. I finished this book with answers to some questions, even more new questions, and a long list of things I’m desperate to learn more about in future installments. There are storylines, powers, and mysteries that feel like they’re only beginning to unfold, and I’m already impatient to see where they lead. Iron Flame is still my favorite of the series, but Onyx Storm was a worthy continuation that deepened the world, strengthened the supporting cast, and reminded me why I became so invested in this story in the first place. Rebecca Yarros has created a world that I don’t want to leave and characters I genuinely miss now that I’ve turned the final page. An easy five stars.

Onyx storm but somethings wrong

My book came early which im happy about, but it didn't come with the book sleeve.

Great Book!

Amazing continuation of the saga, but great as it was with the many plot twists, action, cliffhangers, drama, romance, etc. It felt... forced? or like too much? Again, I absolutely loved it and I will continue with the history no matter what happens because it is SOO good in a way that wow... I've been so excited of the history from the first book to the point where I didn't sleep a whole night just to keep reading (the first two books), but in comparison, the third didn't hit as much as the first two books. I am hoping that the author makes sense of it all as she usually does like... through out the books, if you're not keen on the cues, you might miss something that even the characters are missing and them BAM!! It is explained and you are left as shocked as the characters😂. Like you get the info along with the characters, but if you just disregard them, you'll be as shocked as them, but if you remember them then you'll be like "omg that's whyy!!!!!" ALSO it is ice cold that Rebecca Yarros left so many things unspoken and so many bombs right at the end with no due date for the forth book... that ain't God's way 😭😭😭. Still, I'd definately recommend these books to any listening ear ❤️

Good, but not the best for me

This was an adventure! I really like the premise of finding Andarna's kind and I like that we're getting more of the lore. However, there were some parts that made me raise my eyebrows, roll my eyes, sigh un contently, and just bored. I get it, it's not all high but the lows were so low for me. Did I like it? Sure. Was I entertained? For some parts. was it the best for me? Not really. But it was still a good book. And it's not like I'm dropping the series.

Onyx Storm!!

My Special edition of Onyx Storm just arrived and it's absolutely perfect! It arrived a day early, the sprayed edges are perfect, and I'm just over the moon in happiness.
