He quickly stood up, disbelief written on his face.

"Angel, I-" He didn't get to finish because I quickly threw my hands around his torso and hugged him.

The side of my head rested just a little under his chest and I could clearly hear his erratic heartbeat. Despite it being so loud and fast, it was calming. So calming that I could fall alseep listening to it any time.

In a matter of seconds, he hugged me back. Strongly, protectively caging me in his arms. And the whole world stopped. There was just us.

And in this moment, I realized something. Something I didn't want to admit to myself, something I've been trying to keep buried deep inside me.
