Great Instructions for All Aspects of Life!

Rogers starts from the correct premise that most self help books merely offer uplifting anecdotes rather than concrete guidance for how to change one's life. Only 1 Shot -- Rogers' first work -- breaks free from that characteristic of the genre, providing step-by-step instruction for aligning your soul and thereby enriching your life. At 700 pages, the book may appear challenging, but it is a challenge well worth taking!

Amazing: A Must Read

"This is our purpose: to make as meaningful as possible this life that has been bestowed upon us;to live in such a way that we may be proud of ourselves; to act in such a way that some part of us lives on." (Oswald Spengler) This was one of my favorite quotes that Randy Rogers refers to in his book because it hits home for me. I have always wanted to figure myself out and find a lifelong personal strategy, but never knew how to find it and still be able to manage all of the other aspects of life and my existence. Randy Rogers makes this very easy through his step by step process by finding your inner soul, aligning it with action, and finally responding to these changes. I found that I was able to grasp his concepts easily through his easy to follow process and great visuals. If you are looking to experience life to it's fullest and as you have always imagined and dreamed this is a MUST READ! Ready for the next Randy!

This book is amazing. A real guide for finding true north toward more happiness and productivity. A text book for living.

And with these introductory comments Randall Scott Rogers, in this book ONLY 1 SHOT, sets out to accomplish three things: reengineer our existence, design a life long personal strategy, and rediscover the joy of living. And so begins this rather dauntingly sized book (around 700 pages!) with Rogers as a wise guide who demands a lot from the reader. So often these 'self-help' books tells us why we are not where we want to be and make list for us to accomplish goals that in truth remain rather stock and nebulous. Not Rogers. He tells us what he is about, what we CAN be about and sets the standard by the following goal: 'At bottom, the story of ONLY 1 SHOT is about finding soul and pulling it forward, into the present, onto the surface of life, for self to live as should would live. It is a true story, the whole story, the only story that matters.' As the reader commits to this journey and actually starts reading this 'spiritually centered' tome ('spiritually' here linked to the sacred individuality of each of our special souls), the message is clear. Roger presents situations and ideas and backs them up with graphs and illustration about how we function in our present state of 'just getting along'. He slowly opens doors and windows and requires significant work on the part of the soul searcher to struggle with casting off the detritus in which we have clothed ourselves until we discover soul and then shows us how to bring it forward. Don't be put off by the size of the book: that is evidence of wanting a quick fix like the other self-help books often offer. There is work ahead if you open this volume, but you will rarely find a more learned, centered coach than Randall Scott Rogers. Grady Harp, June 10
