This book focus on examining the use, gratifications and dependence on online news channels by undergraduate students. This study investigated usage pattern of online news channels; news categories or media repertoire of interest to students and their reasons or motivations for such use and dependence; taking a global perspective before restricting it to its base. Media dependency theory and Uses and Gratifications theory were the theoretical foundation of this book. The study used social scientific research methods in obtaining and analyzing its data. Results gotten from data retrieved, revealed various reasons for use and dependence thereby bringing to limelight shortcomings in previous research and a gateway for future studies.
