At twenty one years old I was a typical college bound young adult who had no idea what I wanted. I was a long distance runner, non smoker and healthier than most. I went into cardiac arrest February 2011 and my life changed forever. I stopped planning for a future that almost never came. I went after my dreams and moneyless took to the road with only my dog. I lived more in One Year after my heart attack than my whole life before. One Year follows my journey from leaving the hospital and setting out to hike the Appalachian Trail. I had no money but I couldn't wait, I had to go. I took to the road hitchhiking and hopping trains. The people I met on the road left a lasting impression. One Year is a true story with all the highs and lows. I was robbed in Salt Lake City, became a whitewater raft guide, worked in the oil fields of North Dakota and lived as a ski bum in Colorado. I traveled by foot from Michigan to Florida then onto Montana, North Dakota, Colorado and California all in One Year. It was the hardest year of my life but my heart keeps beating. I wrote, self-edited and self-published ONE YEAR, please excuse any errors and enjoy my travels in ONE YEAR.
