Proselytizing

The basic vector of this movie is traveling to Mars to alleviate manmade earthly problems. We are subject to god-awful background noise… oops, music that is too sappy for words. It may be worth it to turn off the sound and use subtitles. In practice, the scene shifts to stilted dialogue. The purpose is to expose the evils of religious bigotry. Or the evils of Luddites, named after Ed Ludd. Or both. A third postulate is that all we need is love for a world of peace. “Humanity's Last Hope is No Longer Human.” As that is the only way it can work. After it quits being sappy, the story falls apart, and we are left with cute pictures of space. With any luck, Constance Brenneman will do better as Ginger in “The Curse of the Gorgon.” Ava Cantrell, who plays Amelia Voss, is good a gesticulating and may one day be ready for the talkies. If you use subtitles, they are all in lower case.
