The effects of someone's actions over our lives can be lasting. Trauma can convince us that we are worthless and powerless. It can make us feel like no one loves us or cares about us. I know about how this feels. In my experience as a Bosnian ex-refugee and bullying survivor, I have learned that little things make a huge difference. When bad things pile up and we are surrounded by hostility, we begin to think that we have no allies. One Person Can Make A Difference is a poetry book that speaks about these events and discusses them openly so people know that they are not alone. Pain and negativity are a universal theme that transcend race, gender, income level, and nationality. I think that this book touches upon important topics so that they are dealt with directly so there is an emphasis on constructive thinking.
