Simple Tales of Great Value

Mr. Sinelli has created seven endearing tales of sharing, initiative, and optimism. These stories remind us of those essential human values which are important. I was especially move by the last tale, "The Corridor Theory," which emphasizes the importance of "beginnings". Personally, this book reminded me of that basic tenet that states life is not about what you get rather about what you give. Though this book will be appreciated by people of all ages, I would especially recommend it for young children.

This is a wonderful storybook about love. Incredible, self-denying, everlasting love. In an era in which many are swept up in a culture of pride, desire and self-interest, One Lit Torch passionately reminds us that not only feeling, but also acting in a manner of love for all whom we meet, is the true source of happiness and fulfillment. Mr. Sinelli writes this children's book with a sly eye for the adults who may be reading it. The legends are subtly woven to reveal ancient, time-honored secrets to whole relationships, both within families and in community. The stories are easily grasped by even the youngest reader. They are messages created in a pleasing manner with gentle prompting to the reader on how to learn to live and love. Read one of the seven stories to your child or lover each night for a week. Engage a conversation about how these tales can be experienced in your life or daily routine. As the author notes, "Let your sharing of these stories act as your lit torch reaching out to light the torch of another." An advertising campaign once put this another way, "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony." That is clearly the longing of this author. The book was an inspiration to me, most particularly the opening and closing statements of the author. He has crafted profound observations of the human condition and human behaviors in a simple manner. His desire to spark the reader to take steps to change is palpable.
