Very good

What I appreciated about Jonathon Falwell's book is the fact that it is NOT political. It is simply a book about what it was like to suddenly have to take over his father's ministry, following his father's unexpected passing. Jonathon Falwell uses this experience to give practical advice about living the Christian life. He explains the Biblical plan of salvation. To his credit, Jonathon Falwell does not spend any time attacking the people who attacked his father, Jerry Falwell. He takes the high road.

This book is uplifting in a very simple way to one who may be experiencing life.

Good Read On Following In The Footsteps Of A Spiritual Giant

Regardless of what one feels about Jerry Falwell, no one can argue about the legacy he leaves behind of Liberty University, Thomas Road Baptist Church, other Christian Schools, many various Christian ministries, thousands coming to faith in Christ, etc. Most of all, perhaps, is his family. "One Great Truth" by Jonathan Falwell describes the struggles and victories he has experienced in following his father's footsteps as the pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Falwell opens the book with him arriving in his father's office after the latter was found unconscious and the emotions he was experiencing at the time. When he knew that his father had gone home to be with Jesus, Jonathan Falwell then realized what awesome responsibilities he assumed. His story revolves around the theme of the Book of Joshua and Joshua's life. Many know that Joshua followed the footsteps of a great leader - Moses. But now, Joshua had to establish his own legacy and relationship with the Lord. Jonathan Falwell shows in "One Great Truth" some of the parallels between what he and Joshua experienced. While Falwell was initially overwhelmed, he keeps coming back to Galatians 2:20 - "Not I, but Christ" as the focus of the ministry he finds himself in. The focus is to be on Jesus Christ and not mere man. A great read for anyone in need of encouragement. Read and enjoy. Recommended.

This is a tremedous book that shares the stuggles and victories from a person who has walked in the shadow of his father who was "bigger than life" in the eyes of many. A tremdous testimony of what it is like to live the Christian life!

One Great Truth

This was a heart-felt and down to earth book. Johnathan Falwell aptly gives the reader his journey from losing his father to becoming the pastor of one of the largest churches in the country. He is able to humbley relate his spiritual growth and the wonders of what God can do in the life of a Christian who is willing to let God direct one's life.
