Kari Clinton is a proud African American woman who was adopted and raised by a Caucasian family in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri. She is the wife of a U.S. Military Veteran and a family member of several in law enforcement, yet all these things never made her skin tone miss the racist overtones and biases she has been subjected to throughout her life. Since the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Kari has been contacted by several of her non-Black friends - some going back years - apologizing for not being aware of the injustices that many Blacks often encounter and asking if she would enlighten them because they want to be part of the solution to racial reconciliation. One Generation's Compromise Will Be the Next Generation's Captivity is a response to their request. Kari was compelled to write this book to encourage all people to start having those uncomfortable but crucial conversations to combat racism and unconscious biases. Having had a well-rounded upbringing and experienced life on what may be termed as "both worlds," Kari shares her blended perspective on this matter in a bid to advance us to an all-inclusive and better society for generations to come.Whether projected consciously or unconsciously, there is a need for change to happen now to ensure equality for all.
