A literal life saver

This book was given to me as a gift for my husband to help him see who he is in Christ despite his drug addiction. I began reading the book to get him interested in it, but I continued reading it because it was helping me. I don't struggle with addiction, but I do struggle with common human emotions such as fear, control, trust, sadness, insecurity and many other things that stem from the bondage of not really knowing who we are, what Jesus did for us and what God expects of us. We live like prisoners in an unlocked jail cell and this book awakens you to that fact and gives you the courage to push the door open and venture outside to the abundant life God desires for you. You don't have to fear and you don't have to settle, but you do have to choose. I believe that a good first choice is reading this book and allowing the truth of each day's message to really be received by your heart. May you be as blessed as we were!

A Unique Devotional

Most devotionals jump randomly from one message to another, day to day. Neil Anderson's One Day at a Time builds day by day on solid, Scriptural truths, progressing from foundational truths of identity in Christ to their daily application, dealing especially with addictive behaviors. It's a great daily application of the Biblical truths he elaborates on in most of his books: Victory Over the Darkness, Way of Escape, Freedom in Christ, Freedom from Addictions, etc.. If every follower of Christ were to meditate through and apply these daily truths and principles (not just read them), and build "line upon line, precept upon precept", as they are laid out in this "devotional", what a change in the Church we would see! This is a great tool that organizes the life-principles of growth into Christ-likeness more than any I've researched and used in over 30 years of discipleship ministry.
