A great bedtime story for children

When I was little, my mother used to read this book to me. It opened my half-conscious mind to a fantastic world of wonder, heroism, honor, and friendship. It taught me ethics and morals and molded me into the avid reader I am today. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Aesop's fables, Hans Christian Anderson stories, and desires less gruesome version of Grimm fairytales, as well as to those who would like to instill a sense of wonder in their children.
