Something a little different

This was different that what I was expecting going in, but that was a good thing. When I read the description of a woman losing six years of her memories due to health issues, I’ll admit I was expecting something like an over dramatic tv movie designed to make you ugly cry. This is not that. We start with Molly waking with a bit of a headache and realizing she’s in bed with someone Not her boyfriend, in a room not her own. This could go many ways.. most not good and really uncomfortable to read. We find out Molly had a stroke like brain bleed and has lost six years of her life, which includes her memories of her husband and marrying him at all. It’s a lovely story of a woman trying to relearn who she is. Who her friends are, her entire life all while living with a man she doesn’t remember as anything other than her tormentor through high school and college. The author does this with humor and a lot of emotion. A somewhat cozy read, but a bit more than that. Cozy read is a bit of over simplification. This is a good feeling book overall, but does make you ask the question….. if you lost your memories of the years with your partner and hard to start over… would you fall in love with them all over again with who they are today?
