In 2015 The National Assessment of Educational Progress stated that studies found that only 18 percent of African-American fourth graders were proficient in reading, only 19 percent were proficient in math. Studies showed that 8th graders were worse, with only 16 percent being proficient in reading and 13 percent proficient in math. During slavery, slaves tried their best to learn how to read secretly. We are now in 2021 with free libraries in America and the black child still is not educated. Why is this? This very provocative book will enlighten and challenge the black perception of who we are. For too long we have allowed ourselves to be seen as victims, while victimizing each other. This book will challenge the way you see the world as an African American. It is a call to Black Men especially to become valuable to the world.
