Reptile companions have been a part of Michael Bloom's life for nearly all of his current incarnation. Due to this lifelong empathy, he has been a reptile rescue volunteer since 1976.
His earliest dragon poetry was hatched during the dark ages known as the 1980s. Michael knows from experience that dragons can be quite contradictory - they can be beautiful, powerful, horrifying, bestial, elegant, merciful, merciless, and utterly magnificent. He crafts his poetry in the hope of conveying this feeling to the reader: that among all creatures in the known omniverse, dragons alone are akin to a multifaceted jewel.
